Our Story
The Don’t Get Killed Club is a community-driven self-defense brand and workshop hub. We're the people who always tell our friends, “Text me when you get home!!!" at the end of a night out.
We offer a mix of practical safety education, empowerment, and support. While we keep the vibe fun and welcoming, our mission to keep you safe is dead serious.
Founded by Hanna Anderson
Hanna is a writer, comedian, and co-host of The Dating Detectives podcast. After hearing enough dating horror stories to last a lifetime, she realized self-defense shouldn’t feel expensive, intimidating, or out of reach. She founded Don’t Get Killed Club to offer what many of her listeners and friends seemed to need: a supportive, accessible way to learn real-world self-defense.
When she isn't organizing workshops, Hanna performs standup and improv comedy around Los Angeles, chugs away on her various unfinished writing projects, and works with her Dating Detectives team to platform survivor stories. The show has become a top true crime podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and it was one of Spotify's Most Shared Shows of 2025.

Coached by Brie Zepeda
Brie is a certified self-defense instructor heavily influenced by the techniques of Krav Maga. She's taught and trained both groups and individuals for six years, and her workshops focus on awareness, keeping your composure in emergencies, and using your body as a weapon quickly and effectively. With her practical approach and imperative sense of humor, you'll learn skills in a comfortable, confidence-boosting environment.
Originally from Arizona, Brie is also an actor, director and screenwriter based in LA. Her latest short film La Bala, the story of a Mexican family living in Arizona faced with imminent deportation, is currently playing at film festivals around the country.
Thank you to our sponsors!
We've been so fortunate to receive support or donations from the following companies. At every workshop, we're able to give participants their own safety tools thanks to this generosity. Click to shop their stuff!
